Get over yourselves, stop being too chicken to have a not-played-for-laughs queer couple and just fucking make Dean and Castiel a canonical couple already, good grief. Y’all think that the trenchcoat line in an episode written by a woman was “too gay to film” (and yet I see that you kept some equally corny lines in some of her other episodes, too), and yet have you WATCHED YOUR SHOW RECENTLY. I could name a whole lot of lines that are way “cornier” and “cheesier” and yet you seem to think that they’re more worthy than the one you all decided was crossing a line? You know what, grow up and just go for it. You’ve had this huge build up over more than half the seasons that this show has been airing and guess what? You wouldn’t have to change almost a thing, really. I’m just disappointed more than happy about getting to see that original line, because I mean, I was disappointed in general by season 7? But yeesh. You guys really cut the wrong stuff out. I won’t go all teal deer on why I think Dean/Cas should be canon, but I don’t even just say this as a shipper, I say this as a viewer of television who is tired of writers and producers teasing along fans with the possibilities of a particular couple becoming canon and they have no intention of doing it especially for same-sex couples. It happens with het ships too but at least they have a bit more of a chance than same-sex ships do of becoming canon. So because I feel like I have to issue a “challenge,”—which this really isn’t, think of it more like truth or dare and you just picked dare? I dare you to do it. I dare you to actually try to do it well. Amaze me. Surprise me. You want a fucking plot twist? There’s your fucking plot twist.
